If you are coming from out of state, the general rule is to get on Route 95 and stay on it until you get to exit 133 (old exit 36). If you are coming from mid-Vermont or New Hampshire, it is usually best to cross the states on Route 2, picking Rt. 201 up in Skowhegan, ME. Another option for some folks is to come into the U.S. from Canada.

    From the South:
Take I-95 north to exit 133 (Fairfield, old exit 36). Follow Route 201 north through Waterville, Skowhegan, following along the Kennebec River and through the small, quiet mountain towns of Moscow, Bingham, The Forks, etc. to reach the town of Jackman. This trek from exit 133 (old exit 36) will take approximately two hours to the center of Jackman.

At Skowhegan, you will be 1.5 hours from Jackman; at Bingham one hour; and you will be one-half hour away when you reach The Forks.

Once in Jackman, be sure you have what you need (at least for one night) before you drive down our road to the camps or you will waste another hour going out and coming back in again. Mountain Country ShurFine Supermarket is set back from the road on the left-hand side as you go down Main Street. If you need ice, buy it there or at Bishop's Store, as we do not sell any in camp.

Once you have your groceries etc, continue north on 201, (Main Street), going over the bridge at the curve in the road. This is the famous Moose River. Take your next right at Skowhegan Savings (Heald Stream Rd). Follow the road over the small bridge and past the cemetery. The road then takes a sharp left turn. Take the next immediate right onto a dirt road (Hastings Rd). This is the last time you'll see pavement. Within one-half mile, you will pass the Jackman transfer station on the right and go through a winding, well-maintained driveway/road. Once past a large house set well back on the left, you will enter the forest where you will bear left and continue on for approximately 5 miles. Along the way you will see a large house on the right about half way in; you will also see some fish signs in the trees to encourage you along. Finally, you will come to a right turn at our "Last Resort Lane" sign and follow the road to the camps. If you go over a large bridge over a large stream (Upper Churchill Stream), you have gone too far.
