U.S. Economic Confidence Dips for a Second Month in a Row

Gallup’s Economic Confidence Index registered -34 in May, reflecting further deterioration in how Americans assess the economy’s current state as well as its trajectory.

The index had improved significantly from -40 in November to -20 in March, before falling to -29 in April.

Inflation rose about as expected in April, with markets on edge over when interest rates might start coming down, according to a measure released Friday that is followed closely by the Federal Reserve.

UK to suffer slowest growth of all rich nations next year, OECD says

The U.K.’s “sluggish” growth prospects have put it on course to be the worst-performing economy of all advanced nations next year, according to the OECD.
