Whether you’re checking out a B&B for the first time or you’re an inn devotee, we encourage you to stay with us at Golden Stage Inn. We’ve got some of the best online reviews in the region and there’s a reason for that. We offer you fantastic local food, a quiet, private escape (with access to nearly anything you could want to do in Vermont), and personal, comfortable hospitality.

Our inn is located on 5 acres of land just south of Ludlow, VT, home to Okemo Mountain.   We have chickens, sheep, and three honeybee hives. Also on the property we have an in-ground swimming pool, a summertime fire pit, and a lovely babbling brook. The inn itself was originally built in 1788 as a stagecoach stop and was later expanded to become a sprawling farmhouse for Rev Warren Skinner, a staunch Universalist minister in the mid 1800’s. Reportedly a stop on the Underground Railroad, the inn is rich in history. It now boasts six standard guest rooms plus two family suites, some with fireplaces, all with private baths. We offer multiple spacious common rooms for guests to relax by the fire, check email on our complimentary Wi-Fi, or maybe play a board game or two.

At our Vermont Bed and Breakfast, we take our food pretty seriously. We rely on the concept that food does not need to be fancy to be delicious, but it does need to be made from scratch with only fresh, healthy ingredients and always as locally sourced as possible. Our breakfasts are two courses and you probably won’t even notice that they’re nutritious and healthful – you’ll just notice they’re great! And we don’t stop at breakfast. We have our Bottomless Cookie Jar, Michael’s signature Saturday Night Chocolate Cake, homemade soups on winter evenings, honey ginger lemonade throughout the summer, and hot apple cider on chilly afternoons.

Our commitment to local foods isn’t just for the quality of the meals we serve, but also for their environmental impact. We think very consciously about all of our purchases, from sausages to lightbulbs and from washing machines to our natural shampoo, considering the carbon footprint of each of our decisions. We are proud to be a certified “Green Hotel” of the Green Mountain State.

If you’re contemplating a family reunion or if you need space for your wedding or traveling guests, be sure to call us and ask about our Whole House Rental.

Our hearty breakfast is always included in our rates and rates begin as low as $129/night (sometimes lower if you keep an eye out for mid-week or off-season specials!).
