  • Queen City Printers Inc

Dick Schillhammer opened a small printing business in 1951. From the very first day, Queen City Printers was defined by a commitment to excellence. Six decades later, that same commitment continues to drive what we do every day.

Today, under the direction of Dick’s youngest son, Alan, QCP combines state-of-the-art technology with old-fashioned service and craftsmanship. The result is a skilled and experienced custom printer where the customer always comes first.

    History

In 60 years, a lot has changed. Our commitment to excellence hasn’t. Queen City Printers was founded April 1, 1951 by Richard W. Schillhammer. The original business included a well-regarded letterpress and three linotype (hot metal) typesetting machines. In the early 1960's, QCP began the conversion to offset lithography.

By the early 1970’s, QCP had doubled its office and production space, increasing bindery department and pressroom, which then included several Miehle single color presses.

Two, four, and six color presses followed. Alan Schillhammer, who started working at QCP as a teen, succeeded his brother John at the helm in 1995.

To meet the ever-evolving sophistication of printing, QCP has continually upgraded its offset presses and also added digital capability. Direct to print systems make file transmissions seamless. A high quality outcome still stands as the center piece at QCP.
